Only £9 for a High-End Lipstick!?

urban decay lipstick

Over a month ago, someone tweeted that the revolution lipsticks on the Urban Decay website went down from £15.50 to £9 just for that day, how good is that!? If I remember rightly, I think it was something to do with bank holiday (which was ages ago, sorry it's late!) So of course I headed straight to their website. There was so many colours to choose from, I didn't have a clue what colour to buy as I personally like swatching them before buying. In the end, I decided on 'strip' because nude lipsticks are my fave and of course I needed another one. On another up, the delivery was FREE! Oh and did I mention that I also got a free sample size original eye primer. Urban Decay, why are you so nice? Not that I'm complaining, I only paid £9 on the Urban Decay website... what the hell!

When it arrived, I was so excited. I had never tried Urban Decay lipsticks before. Mainly because I personally think that they're so pricey for a lipstick. But at just £9, you can't go wrong. As soon as I took it out of its packaging, I was even more thrilled! The metallic chrome design and wavy texture pulled me in. When you take the cap off, the product itself is sitting in a metallic purple shell which is so pretty. Also, I've never held a lipstick that's so weighty before.

I absolutely love the consistency. It's so creamy and easy to apply as it just glides on. I did think that the 'nude' colour I was expecting was different to my usual preference. It's more of a dark nude but it's a lovely colour and after wearing it a few times, I eventually got used to it. I don't normally go for dark lips but I'm trying to build my confidence to go for them shades. This lipstick is highly pigmented, to be honest I would be surprised if it wasn't. It lasts a good few hours, although after eating and drinking I do have to do a little touch up. Overall, I love this lipstick and I'll have to get more. Hopefully UD does some more offers soon!

What do you think of Urban Decay lipsticks?

Do You Trust Vodka?

Okay, we can all admit to having a few too many vodka and lemonades or vodka and cokes now and then. I know people that get absolutely hammered and can never remember anything the next day, unless you're me. I remember everything from a night out, no matter how much I drink. Maybe I need to drink a little more? Wait, did I really just say that?

coconut lane phone case

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this pop up on your feed sometime last month. As I was scrolling through Coconut Lanes website, my eye caught this phone case. Obviously I found it hilarious so I had to get it. Matter of fact, I wanted the majority of the phone cases (including the marble one of course) but I was short on money and desperately needed a new case, so I was good and treated myself to ONE. Whilst using my phone, most people ask me what my case says and when I show them they can't help but give me a smirk or a little chuckle.

When you've had one too many, you just end up not caring about anything. Like how you have a few streaks on your arm from your fake tan or that one of your false lashes is starting to lift off. That's all down to alcohol, my beauts. The thing is though... would you believe vodka when it tells you that you can dance? Because I do.

What I Got for my 19th Birthday!

I feel like I haven't written a blog post in forever. But actually, it's only been just under a week since I last posted. And during them six days, I've really missed blogging. My birthday was on the 17th and I was planning to get this post up a couple of days after. After a week of avoiding my mums very bad flu, I decided to wake up with the very bad flu on the morning of my birthday! (sarcastic smile right here). So I haven't been feeling up for taking photos or writing, but I'm back and feeling a lot better. I wrote a 'what I got for my birthday' post last year and I really enjoyed it. Also, it's great to look back on the lovely gifts I got and I find that these posts help me with gift ideas for my friends and family.

gellux polishes

I actually asked for this Gellux nail lamp for my birthday as I needed a new one. Little did I know that my parents were also going to buy me six polishes to go with it. I'm so excited to try these colours out! My auntie bought me my favourite alcoholic drink, who doesn't like Malibu? It tastes amazing with pineapple juice by the way, I recommend you try it. Staying on the topic of alcohol... my best friend got me these little drinks. Me and my best friend had a shared birthday night out on the Saturday, so when we were having pre drinks at hers, I was going to take these round to do shots. Me being me, forgot! So, I'm going to have to save these for another time.

My best friend also got me two sets of these Soap & Glory goodies. She also got me Wispa (which I was insanely pleased about and surprised that I haven't eaten them yet), and the Ted Baker body spray which is my all time favourite body spray. Of course I got a birthday badge from my parents, you're never too old to wear a badge. Although, I didn't wear it for work, I wore it as soon as I got in my car for the drive home.

I also asked my parents for this perfume as it's one of my favourites and I had ran out. If you know me well, you will know that I love Pretty Little Liars. Josh bought me the box set, you can imagine my face when I opened this as it was a complete surprise. Josh also paid for our holiday this year as my birthday present too. Along with the Malibu from my auntie, she bought me three Katie Price books. Honestly, her books are so good to read. I'm always hooked on every single one.

My other auntie and my uncle got me some perfume and shimmery body mist from Next along with money. I got a personalised chocolate slab from my mum and sister and I will tell you the funny story to go with it (we find it funny anyway). On my birthday, I opened a few cards and presents in the morning before my parents went to work and my sister went to school. I didn't start work till half 2 in the afternoon so I was at home all day by myself on my birthday. When my mum left to go to work and take my sister to school, she said "bye billy" as in 'billy no mates'. Surely you must have heard of that saying. My reply was "Billy birthday girl" and that is how she addressed me all day. Again, I don't know how this is still in the box.

I was a bit confused to why there was a random piece of card with my mums writing all over it. When I opened it, she had written her own little poem (which by the way, is so good and it rhymes) to basically say that I'm seeing Peter Andre next month. I am so excited to see him and I can't wait! From the rest of my family and friends, I got money. As always, I'm super grateful for everything!

My New Skincare Friend | Vanity Planet

I have been eyeing these brushes up for a while, so thanks to 'Shaaanxo' for the 70% off discount, I bought the spin for perfect skin from Vanity Planet. It was meant to be $100 but I got it for $43.38 (£36 GBP) including delivery, which I think is a fantastic price. Obviously, I was stuck between the colours 'strawberry ice' and 'frosted blue' but my heart told me to go with pink.

The spinner includes a body brush, a pumice stone, a facial cleansing brush and a facial exfoliating brush. I find that the different parts doesn't securely fit onto the spinner, they fall off really easily. Especially the body brush. It is a bit of a nightmare. The packaging is so cute, I still keep the spinner and brush parts in the box. The first time I used this on my skin, it felt so strange. The spinner controlled itself on my skin and I found it hard to control it myself. But you end up getting used to it and telling it what to do.

Cleansing Brush:

You don't realise how much product you actually leave on your skin whilst taking off your makeup... until you use this. The cleansing brush leaves me feeling super clean after use. After cleansing, I usually tone and moisturise which is also what I do when using this. I've experienced a few times when I've toned my face after using the cleansing brush, and there was still leftover product on my cotton pad. Whether it was how long I was using it for for those odd times, I don't know. I usually cleanse for around 10 minutes and then continue my skin routine. The bristles of this brush are super soft which is perfect for sensitive skin like mine when you need to be delicate.

Exfoliating Brush:

As I don't usually exfoliate my face, I only cleanse, I decided that I didn't want to try this brush out. I assume it's still as good as the cleansing brush but is obviously more firm. The bristles again are really soft but they feel much more dense than the cleansing brush. Maybe I should start using this to give my skin a proper clean and to get the remaining dirt out of pores.

Body Brush:

I'm not too keen on this one. It falls off my spinner really easily and constantly - its actually so annoying that I just gave up using it. So, I used it that one time and never looked back. During that one time, when I actually managed to use it, it cleansed my body like any other bath scrunchie. I do love how big it is so it's easy to use and the bristles are really soft and not too rough on the skin.

Pumice Stone:

I have super dry and hard skin on the bottom of my feet (ew). I always use a pumice stone and a callus remover to get rid of the dead skin on my feet. So, I was excited to have a new stone. To be honest, it does the exact same job as every other pumice stone. There's nothing too exciting to know about this attachment.

Overall, spin for perfect skin is great for delicate and sensitive skin. I just wish that the brush attachments would stay on the spinner better. I'm glad I got this at a discounted price. If I would've bought it at $100, I wouldn't be too impressed as I honestly don't think it fits that price. Do you use a spin brush? If so, what brand?

NYX Sculpt & Highlight vs New Cid I-Groom Pencil

NYX brow contour

The I-groom pencil has been my go-to eyebrow product for well over a year. After running out, I realised that paying the price of £19.50, paying for delivery and then waiting for it to arrive, I might as well try a new product. I used to be able to buy it from my local trade store but they stopped selling them and I had to make orders online. So, for just £8 I bought the NYX Sculpt & Highlight Brow Contour and it was worth every penny!

I bought the NYX Sculpt & Highlight in the colour 'Vanilla/Taupe' which comes out the exact same colour as my New Cid pencil which I'm super happy about. Both of the products are highly pigmented which I would expect anyway as they're both professional products. I love the consistency of the NYX pencil. It's creamy and I find that it's easy to apply, whereas New Cid is like a hard pencil which I find hard to apply and it takes time to blend out if I make areas a little dark.

With brow contour, you get a highlighter on the other end which I was excited to try out. To be honest, it's not the best brow highlight I've used in my life but it's still pretty darn great! It's not too white or too shimmery like you can get with other brow highlighters. On the other end of the I-groom pencil, you get a spooley which I think is fantastic. It's so much easier than having a separate one.

Overall, my preferred brow product is *drum roll* NYX Brow Contour. It's just so much more affordable and does the exact same job as my previous fave brow product. Have you tried either of these?

Revlon Colorstay 24 Hours Foundation Review

After reading and hearing lots of great reviews on this product, I thought I'd buy it and give it a go myself. I bought the combination/oily foundation in the shade 'buff'. Instead of splashing out £12.99 on a foundation I really wanted, I purchased it with the points on my good ole Boots card. And let me tell you, this is the most adored foundation I've ever owned. I always love how foundations look in glass bottles, I just prefer them so much more for some reason. It also has a pump which makes things 100x easier! Who actually likes shaking the bottle to get the product out and then accidentally end up with too much product? Not me.

revlon colorstay foundation review

The foundation is very thin and lightweight. You'll never know how much fun I have applying this as I love how thin it is, it goes on so smoothly. So smoothly that I wanted to put more and more on because it was so satisfying to apply. Is that weird? Anyway, it gave me 100% full coverage as soon as I applied it. Being pale, I do have some red patches on my face but colorstay covers them brilliantly. It covers blemishes and pores too without the addition of concealer.

The shade I picked is perfect for my skin tone. I was going to get the lightest colour 'ivory' as I do with every other brand, but it looked very pink. Usually people with pale skin go for the pink undertone foundations but for me, I find that once applied I can look a bit orange. So instead, I picked the second lightest shade which I tested and matched perfectly. 'Buff' is the perfect colour for me, it's not too light or has that orange hint of colour.

My foundation was made to control combination/oily skin types. I can honestly say that it does control my crazy oily skin. But after around 10 hours, I have a little bit of a shiny forehead, which isn't a huge deal as it's not that noticeable and you can just dab your head with a beauty blender. Colorstay is meant to last for 24 hours but I am going to say no to that one. It definitely is long lasting and it controls my oily skin far longer than any other foundations I've tried, which have been around 3-4 hours. I haven't had any patchiness or fading after 15 hours and it also has SPF in which means it's a winner!

Overall, this is my most loved foundation of all time and I will definitely be buying this again! Have you tried Revlon Colorstay?
