January Favourites

Hello lovelies!

So we're finally at the end of January 2015, which means that I can now share my monthly favourites with you lovely people!

Firstly, I'm going to start with the...
Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

I have always used Rimmel foundations - but this one is my favourite.
I have it in the colour 'Ivory,' which is quite light, but I do have very pale skin. I think this is the lightest colour that Rimmel does - please correct me if I'm wrong.

It has full coverage and it gives an amazing glow. It is the right colour for me - I always struggle with getting the perfect foundation colour to match my skin tone.

New Cid Cosmetics Grooming Pencil

January Favourites

This is a eyebrow grooming pencil. This is honestly the best eyebrow product I have used.

I have done a review on this. So to find out more, check it out here!

Soap & Glory Hand Care

Soap and Glory hand products

I got these for Christmas, they are only the mini tubes. I do have a big tube of the Hand Food and it is amazing! Being a hairdresser, you always need to look after your hands!

I use the 'scrub + happiness' first. It is a orange and mandarin hand scrub for dry hands. You apply this onto slightly damp hands and after you've lathered your hands up, rinse and lightly dry your hands. You then apply your hand cream (Hand Food).

They smell absolutely lovely and leaves my hands feeling so soft! They're also the perfect size to fit in your bag and to take to work with you.

Elf Eyelashes

e.l.f eyelashes

Elf is an online beauty shop. They sell top quality products at affordable prices.

These are long lasting and re-usable! They are extremely easy to apply - especially for a first time lash applier. Does that make sense? Haha.

They also blend in with your natural lashes really well and they enhance your eye make-up!
If you haven't yet read my small 'elf haul' - click here!

ASP Signature Gel Polish

ASP gel polish

I am a massive lover of gel polish! (eek!)

These are a pack of 5 and the price was reduced. So I had to get them. We all know how much gel polishes are, right? (psst, they're expensive!)

The colours are Mystique, Forbidden and Cosmopolitan. The other two are a base coat and a top coat.

These colours are so glittery and long lasting! They are also very easy to do. If you are not a gel polish expert, bear in mind that you will need a UV/LED lamp so the gel sets and finishing wipe liquid. If you would like a separate post on these, please let me know.

Ted Baker wash set

ted baker gift set

I have the body wash, body lotion and the body spray. I apologise for this photo quality, I am currently working on making my photos better. (My 2015 resolution).

I use the body wash, obviously when I'm in the bath. I then use the body lotion after I'm out of the bath and then I finish off, spraying the body spray! Can I just say that all of these smell SO good!

Please let me know if you would like any separate posts on the products I've shown above.

What are your monthly favourites? Do you have any the same as me?

Liebster Award

Hello lovelies!

I was tagged by the beautiful Jasmine to do this.

What is the Liebster award?
You have to answer 11 questions that the person who tagged you makes up themselves. Then you tag new bloggers and make them 11 questions to answer. However, you have to pick new bloggers as the idea is to 'discover new blogs.'

Liebster Award

1) Are you more of a make-up or fashion person?
I'm definitely more of a make-up person. I've always been more interested in make-up.

2) Describe your style?
I'm a leggings kind of girl! I do wear jeans when I feel like it though. Definitely dresses or skirts when I'm going out for special occasions.

3) Do you have any piercings/tattoos?
I have 5 piercings. I'm counting the ear lobes as one piercing. I have two helix piercings, a rook piercing and my belly piercing. I did used to have my tragus pierced but I had a very bad experience with that one. I do have ideas on tattoos but I'm still not sure on where abouts to get my first one.

4) Do you play any sports?
     I wouldn't say that I 'play.' I'm a ballet dancer - dance is a sport, right?

5) Favourite make-up product?
Mascara! I use Rimmel London Scandal-Eyes.

6) How long have you been blogging?
I used to blog about 4/5 years ago but I didn't really stick with it because of school. Then, I made this blog account about a year ago but I never posted anything until the end of 2014.

7) What inspired you to start blogging?
You might remember a website called 'Piczo.com.' It was a website builder and blog website. Me and my childhood best friend used to make websites on there at the age of about 12 (haha!) and after a couple of years I started reading the blogs and that started me off. I've then been reading blogs ever since and it has inspired me to make my own and share my tips and my lifestyle with other readers/bloggers.

8) Favourite colour?
    Pink!!

9) If you had to pick one shop to shop at for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
I want to say 'New Look.' But, I've seriously thought about this one and I'm going to go with  'Boots.' Just because it has make-up, skin care, hair products and food & drink - so you've got everything in there.

10) Fashion Icons?
       Lauren Conrad and Holly Willoughby.

11) What is your dream job?
The job I have now which is hairdressing! But I do want to do something within the beauty path!

Here are your questions:

1) Do you prefer heels or flats?

2) If you could only have one lipstick/lipgloss for the rest of your life, what would it be?

3) What's your favourite holiday destination? Where would you like to go next?

4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

5) Your favourite piece of clothing now?

6) If you could change something about yourself, what would you change and why?

7) What phone have you got right now and would you like to change it or keep it?

8) What is your zodiac sign?

9) What is your hair colour history?

10) Favourite food?

11) Are you a dog or cat lover?

Please let me know when you've done yours as I would love to read your answers.

Katy Perry - Royal Revolution

Hi lovelies!

Today's post is going to be on the Katy Perry 'Royal Revolution' fragrance.

I have a feeling that it came out some time last year - so I am a bit behind.
If you haven't yet read a review on this, keep reading!

I was in Boots with my boyfriend originally shopping for his two sisters' christmas presents. I came across this perfume and I honestly, instantly fell in love!

Without me knowing until Christmas day, I had this wrapped up under my Christmas tree from my boyfriends parents!

This is Katy Perry's 5th fragrance and the 3rd in conjunction of Coty.

Katy Perry Royal Revolution

First off, lets start with the packaging! I am a complete geek for good designed packaging.

It comes in a blue coloured box with beautiful silver designs - I want to say that it gives it a metallic look.

The designs on this box are similar or are the same as the other Coty ones which are:

-Killer Queen (Red one)
-Oh So Sheer (Pink/Purple one)

Katy Perry Killer Queen

It's a blue crystallised diamond. If you hold it up to the light, the colour is gorgeous!
It also has this dark silver top to the bottle, it's near enough designed the same as the others.

The scent lasts about 5-6 hours. Although, when it fades, I like to re-spray to freshen the scent up.

It's a floral fragrance mixed with a fruity scent.

The scent is soft and sweet - some people like to wear different fragrances for different times of the year. Summer would be the perfect time for this one.

People can smell it on me and I do get some lovely compliments. Especially from my clients as I am putting my hands near their face most of the time.

This is by far my favourite fragrance! What's your favourite? Have you tried this one?

E.L.F

Hello lovelies!

Recently I've bought some bits of make-up from e.l.f cosmetics, also known as 'eyes lips face.' So I thought, why not do a small blog post on the products I bought.

Blush with brush:
elf blush with brush
£2.50

As I have quite pale skin, I need to test out lots of different blushers, they're either too dark or don't suit me. I thought I would try e.l.f cosmetics. I looked at all the different blushers on their website and I really liked the look of this one and there was a lot of good reviews. So, I got this one, in the colour 'Innocence.'

elf blush
£2.50

This is quite light for me. You can hardly see it unless, you keep going over it to build up the colour. It just leaves a bit of a pale pink shimmer. I don't use the brush and I haven't tried using it as I use my own. Now I know for next time, to buy a darker pink colour.

Blush brush:

£3.95

While I was on the website, I thought I might as well buy another blush brush. I read all of the reviews on different blush brushes to choose the perfect one.

Some people said the brush is a bit small, but personally I think it's the perfect size as it picks up the right amount of product.

elf makeup brush
£3.95

It's a high quality and soft brush and it's now one of my favourites!
The brush is also slightly tapered, so the colour goes on accurately. It is also very easy to clean!

Natural lash kit:
elf natural lashes
£1.95

Out of all the fake eyelashes I've owned, these are definitely my favourite! They are easy to apply and you can easily re-use them.

natural eyelash strips
£1.95

The fake lashes look natural, but full! They will enhance your make-up look and your eyes.

If you would like to see what they look like, I have a 'make-up look' post coming up next month which will include these lashes!

Eyeshadow brush:
elf eyeshadow brush
£1.95

I have only used this brush once and it is one of my favourite eyeshadow brushes!

This applies the product smoothly and none of the bristles have come out, as of yet!
I've heard some girls say that the bristles in theirs came out after about 2 or 3 uses.

Whereas, I've heard from other girls that their eyeshadow brush is perfectly fine.
I say it's a pot of luck!

It works just as well in the crease and to blend in. This brush is also very easy to clean.

Yet again, I will also be using this for my 'make-up look' post next month. Watch this space!

Disclaimer:  E.l.f did not send these products to me, or paid me to make this blog post. I used my own money and included my own honest opinions of these products.

Hi Brow or New Cid Cosmetics?

Hello lovelies!

It's a new year and a new start! I am very excited for what 2015 is going to bring. Even though 2014 was a really good year for me, I hope 2015 is going to be even better!

Today's post is going to be some sort of 'comparing' post on two different eyebrow make-up.

I used to use a cheap eyebrow colour compact kit from Collection. It wasn't very good quality and it took me 20-30 minutes to apply in the morning. It was a complete nightmare!

My nightmare didn't last long though, because lucky me...
I got a Hi Brow kit and a New Cid Cosmetics brow pencil from my parents for Christmas!

Which one is the best though?

Eyebrow comparing products

Grab yourself a hot chocolate and get comfy as this is going to be a very long post! - I've warned you.

Firstly, I'm going to start with Hi Brow!

It's a compact with a mirror (always handy). I have the colour in light brown. As my hair colour is quite light, I only need to put the powder on very lightly.

There is also a highlighter inside too! I find that the highlighter is quite shimmery. But it can't be too bad as I use it!

It also comes with a small dual ended brush. It's a bit small, but it's usable. I use this brush for the eyebrow colour and the highlighter. The angled brush part is quite thick so if I need to fill in a smaller part of my brow, I have to use my own eyebrow brush from MAC.

Hi Brow

Hi Brow Powder Duo

There is also 3 different eyebrow stencils tucked inside! The stencils are angled, curved and straight.

eyebrow stencils

I have only used the angled stencil. Being honest, the stencil is quite long for my brows! Also, the 'high point' part on the stencil is very high up from my actual brow.

As it's quite high up from my brow, I have to adjust the stencil. Then I've caused a problem, as the start of the brow on the stencil is quite low down. I normally do the start of the brow myself.

The stencils are very easy to clean afterwards! Bonus!

Hi Brow eyebrow

Sometimes the colour looks too full after applying the powder. But I just use a brush to get most of the harsh parts out. It looks much better after. You can make them much darker using the light brown compact but darker brows wouldn't suit me.

Other colour compacts:
  • Hi Brow Dark Brown
  • Hi Brow Dark Charcoal
  • Hi Brow Soft Dove (light grey)
They all come with the same highlighter inside.

Hi Brow Compact Kit is £29.95 on their website. Or you can get them from a professional beauty trade store.

Next up is New Cid Cosmetics!

new cid

This is an eyebrow grooming pencil & brush! It only comes in 1 shade which is called 'Neutral'.

When I first looked at this, the pencil looked black! I honestly thought it would be too dark for me.

If you're a blonde or have light hair (like me!) Go over your brows very lightly. Maybe once or twice. Whereas, if you've got quite dark hair, you can go over your brows more than twice!

You twist the black part to put the pencil in and out. It comes out quite far, so it's long lasting!

You won't need much of the pencil to come out while doing your brows as it goes down quite slowly. (Like I said, long lasting!)

The brush is really good too! It brushes your brows into the right place and I also use this brush when I use my Hi Brow colour.
 new cid eyebrow pencil

My brow looks more natural than the Hi Brow colour.

I really recommend this product! Its £17.00 on their website or you can get it from a professional beauty trade store.

I honestly prefer using the New Cid Cosmetics pencil rather than the Hi Brow powder.

If you've used both of these, which one do you prefer? Or if you've only used one of these, do you like it?
