Our One Year Anniversary in Stratford

If you don't follow me on social media, you may not know that I've recently taken a trip to Stratford, in London for mine and Liam's one year anniversary and Liam's birthday. I believe we paid £79 each for two nights stay, with breakfast included on both days in The Westbridge Hotel. The hotel was only a five minute walk from Stratford train station and Westfield shopping centre which was super handy.

The hotel itself was so modern, as you can imagine, I loved it! The staff were so friendly and helpful as soon as we arrived and we didn't feel at all uncomfortable once. You could tell that the cleanliness of the whole place was top priority, I didn't ever see somebody not providing room service or cleaning.

Keeping with the modern theme, you could control the air con, heating and lighting from the TV. I was stunned. Although we never used it, they also had a portable phone in the hotel room which we were allowed to take with us around London, how cool!? The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the shower was lush. I was pretty gutted that they didn't have a bath tub as I was looking forward to having a relaxing sesh in there, but I didn't mind too much.

The area seemed a little dodgy further up the road but we never had any trouble ourselves. Westfield is the largest shopping centre in Europe, so we had so much to do to keep busy, especially shopping - I admit to spending a lot of money. We ate in Westfield most of the time, apart from having breakfast at the hotel. Everything you would need is in the shopping mall - such as bowling, the cinema, spas etc. Liam found the way to the West Ham football stadium and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which again, weren't far away at all.

We managed to do everything we wanted to do and we were ready to come home on the third day as we had done everything. I would definitely go back again and I recommend going 100% if you want to get away for a few days.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter First Impressions & Review

makeup revolution liquid highlighter

makeup revolution liquid highlighter review

I had never tried a liquid highlighter in my life until now. I always questioned how it's used and what if it goes wrong etc etc etc. In other words, I'm just a wuss and don't have a bloody clue about anything! I had seen so many people go on and on about this very particular liquid highlighter from Makeup Revolution, so as it was only £6, I thought to myself, why the hell not give it a go!? I originally wanted the 'champagne' liquid highlight - which is a gorgeous golden pink colour but of course with my luck, it was sold out.

Instead, I decided on the 'starlight' liquid highlight - which is a white, pale pink colour. If like me, you're a pale gal, this would really suit your skin tone. When I first saw it online, I honestly thought it was going to be way too pale and bright for my liking. Oh I was so wrong. Makeup Revolution have brought out a highlighter dedicated to every single skin tone which is amazing!

The first time I used this, I didn't have a clue how much product to use. I admit, I used waaaay too much. The astronauts in space could've probably seen me glowing. I patted it in with my fingers and used a beauty blender and I found that the beauty blender worked best. This highlight is absolutely blinding once it's just applied, never mind when the light hits it! It's so highly pigmented, I just can't believe the price.

As it's so intense, I would wear this on a night out instead of on a day to day basis. Although, if I do choose to wear it during the day, I have managed to make it more subtle by applying pressed powder on top and it works a treat every time. It lasts all day and it doesn't go patchy like I expected it to.

Makeup Revolution are absolutely booming at the moment! Have you tried their liquid highlighters?

How To Style a Sheer Top

how to style sheer

So, I'm back with an outfit post, o.m.g - the nerves. As much as I love blogging about fashion, it fucking scares me every time I see myself on the internet. As well as that, I always feel ever so awkward going through the pictures and pick out so many flaws about myself. There's not many pictures that I keep - no matter how many are taken. It has taken me a while to learn how to love my body and the lumps and bumps that are a part of me.

I also apologise for being so MIA for the past month on my blog and social media. My nan was taken into hospital back in February and she's been really unwell since, so I've been doing endless trips back and forth up there. On a good note, I very recently achieved one of my goals that I wanted to smash this year and that was to get another job. I only found out two days ago that I got this job and I am still over the moon. You can read my other goals for 2018, here. Now that little life update is over with, let's chat about everythaang you need to know about styling sheer.

Sheer has been ever so popular in the fashion world since last year and I personally, never thought I would be able to rock it. But, you can style it SO many ways. I usually wear sheer on a night out or if I'm going for drinks etc. I personally don't have the confidence to wear sheer out and about during the day.

It's what's underneath that matters. I find that lacy pieces are much more flattering than just a plain black crop top/tube top or a bra/bralette. I always style my jeans and sheer top with this lace detailed crop top or if I'm feeling really confident and sassy (ha!), or depending on where I'm going, I wear a black laced bra under my sheer top instead.
The only time I won't wear a crop top underneath, is when I wear a high waisted skirt - just because I feel like there's too much going on. So, I just stick to my lacy black bra instead.

With sheer, you can wear any sort of shoes. If you want to dress it down, stick on some cute trainers, plimsolls or ankle boots. If you want to dress it up, heels work best. Although, these knee high boots look lush paired with the skirt.
You don't have to wear jewellery but I feel like it just completes the whole look. It can even be minimal. I always like to wear my ol' faithful hoops or my dangly earrings for when I'm going out because you can see them, whereas studs, you can't. A statement necklace would also go perfectly with a sheer top. Blazers and jackets look gorgeous with this outfit and can change the whole look. It can also 'cover you up a bit' if you're feeling a little unconfident. Let me know what you think of these outfits.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Eyeshadow Palette

makeup revolution flawless matte eyeshadow palette review

As I've been needing more matte eyeshadows in my life, I thought why the heck not buy a whole palette dedicated to just matte shadows!? I'm also a sucker for neutrals, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. Sometimes you get those palettes where you don't even touch the majority of the colours, but with this palette I knew I would wear every single shade.

First off, the palette came in the most gorgeous reflective coppery gold coloured packaging, which of course drew me right in. Then, taking the sleek, shiny black palette out of the sleeve I weren't that keen on how similar the shades are to eachother, but as I said, I'll definitely make use of each one.

Only a few of the shades aren't as pigmented as I thought they would be, but that's still great considering it was only a few out of the 32 shades and the palette is only £8! Although the shades are very similar; especially the third and fourth rows, there's great crease and transitional shades. I haven't honestly tried out every single shade so far (cos, that would take me forevs), but the ones I have tried are so soft and blend out really easily.

I love this palette overall. The pigmentation is amazing for it only being a drugstore palette priced at £8! Although, I personally wouldn't recommend it due to the majority of the colours being very similar.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

lasting perfection concealer

collection lasting perfection concealer

I needed a new concealer for when I fake tanned, so as I've been meaning to try out this particular concealer for so long, I decided to buy it and use it for when I'm feeling like a tanned goddess. Also, what is it about having a tan that makes you feel so much better about yourself anyway!?

So many people have raved about this so I couldn't wait to see what all the fuss was about! I bought it in the shade 'Cool Medium 2' which is the perfect colour for when I'm tanned. It has a typical applicator to apply the concealer with and it's also super lightweight on the skin. It glides on really easy and doesn't dry quickly at all, which is perfect if you like to apply it in certain places on the face first and then blend it all in.

With it being very full coverage and a drugstore concealer, I was expecting it to look cakey once it had been applied or even after a few hours. However, I was wrong. It doesn't look cakey at all and the skin looks flawless. The lasting perfection concealer definitely keeps those under eye bags hidden throughout the day and it doesn't crease up in my fine lines under my eyes. It doesn't last too long on my spots but it definitely lasts long enough for a drugstore concealer.

Collection says that this lasts for up to 16 hours although, I really don't think it hits the 16 hour mark. Fair enough it does last all day though. I will definitely be buying this in my normal shade and for £4.19, you can't go wrong!
