Hand Care

hand care products

Hello lovelies!

Being a hairdresser, my hands are in and out of water all of the time. (At work and at home.)
Even though I make sure that my hands are really dry after washing somebody's hair, they still get really dry and sore.

Whether you have a job working with particular substances or not, you need to take good care of your hands.

Dermatitis is very common with hairdressers.
Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin when you come in contact with a particular substance. The skin becomes red, blistered, dry, scaly and cracked. It can affect any part of the body, but most commonly affect the hands and face.

How it's treated: See your GP. They can advise moisturisers, ointments, creams and tablets. With treatment, most people with dermatitis can expect their symptoms to improve and some will resolve completely.

Dermatitis can affect your job or/and the rest of your life.
I advise you to watch this video below, whether you have a job working with a particular substance or not..

Moving on to how I care for my hands...

Soap&Glory - Scrub + happiness and hand food: I use the scrub and happiness on slightly damp hands. After lathering, rinse and lightly dry your hands. Then I apply my hand food cream. I use these after the bath or washing my hair.

Soap&Glory - The big hand food tube: I have this in my bag when I go out. If my hands are feeling dry or chapped, I use this.

Simple Hydrating light moisturiser: I moisturise my hands before bed or after a bath if I haven't used my Soap&Glory hand creams. It's a light moisturiser, great for sensitive skin. Also, leaves your hands feeling soft! I also use this moisturiser for my face.

E45 Itch Relief cream: Soothes itching caused by eczema, dermatitis, pruritis and other dry skin conditions. I 100% recommend this! I instantly use it when I have itchy hands.

Take good care of your hands, not only that... take good care of your skin!

Have you fell in love with my sleep wear!?
I am a massive fan of Ted Baker, so when I got these, I was so happy!

I got this camisole and shorts set for Christmas from my parents. Wednesday was my first night wearing them! (I have no photos with this on, for obvious reasons.)

There are lace trims on both the camisole and the shorts. There is also an elasticated underband (which is also lace) and it makes you feel supported and it fits your body properly - so it's not too tight or too loose.

The camisole has lightly padded cups, which can be removed if you wanted to.
Has adjustable straps which is really good!

There's gorgeous little pink bow on both the camisole and shorts with a signature charm. If you know me well, you should know that I have an obsession with bows!

You can wash them in the washing machine. They are super comfy and it's a nice flimsy soft material. I absolutely love my new sleep wear!

Get inspired for Valentines!

Hey everyone!

With Valentines day coming up very shortly (tomorrow), I thought that I'd do a blog post on it.

Some people go out with their friends for Valentines or spend it with their loved ones. I am going out with my boyfriend for our third Valentines together, I thought that I would show you what I will be wearing and how my make-up will be.

Firstly, I'm going to point out that I am not a professional at make-up. It may not be absolutely perfect, but I'm happy with it!

I thought that I would go for a rose gold shimmery eye look. I also used false lashes to enhance the eye make-up. I went for one of my black dresses with black and cream heels to go with it. I'm also using my silver clutch, instead of taking out a huge daytime bag. On my nails is Orly Gel FX in the colour 'Passion Fruit.' My hair is also pretty simple too.

I took this picture in my sisters bedroom as she has a full size mirror. Please excuse the mess!

Scandaleyes Xxtreme Mascara Review

When I run out of my mascara, I usually go to 'Boots' and pick another one up - that's only if they're doing something like 3 for 2 on Rimmel products. Unfortunately for me, they weren't doing it. My boyfriend suggested 'Superdrug,' and I'm so glad he did!

In Superdrug, all Rimmel London products were 2 for £10. So I ended up getting two mascaras; Scandaleyes Xxtreme and Scandaleyes Volume Flash extreme black! I normally use the Scandaleyes Volume Flash (the orange one), which wasn't in there at the time. To be honest, I haven't seen it anywhere, maybe they've stopped doing it? The bright pink colour grabbed my attention first.

Scandaleyes Xxtreme Mascara Review

As the Xxtreme mascara is quite new, I thought that I'd do a review on it.

It's meant to give volume and length. As you can see, there is an arched side and a flat side.

The bristles on the flat side are more spaced out which is supposedly why it gives length.
Whereas, the bristles on the arched side are closer and a lot shorter than the ones on the flat side.

The arched side is also easier to get in the corners without making a mess. I'm a right messy pup when it comes to applying mascara!

Bear in mind that I don't use eyelash curlers.

I started with the arched side at the root of my lashes and turned the mascara wand to the flat side while applying the mascara to my lashes.

I have noticed that the flat side has made my lashes much longer. I have also noticed that the arched side has gave a little volume, I wouldn't say that the volume is that great though.

Overall, I love this mascara and Rimmel has made me happy once again!

What is your current mascara at the moment and is it your favourite?
