A/W 2018 Wardrobe Wishlist

autumn and winter wishlist 2018

My favourite time of the year is here! Call me crazy, but I love the colder, darker mornings and evenings. There are so many cute pieces about in stores for this season so I had to make a wishlist because I want everything!

You can't not have a thick knitted jumper this time of the year. This one from River Island particularly caught my eye. I just love the quality of the material and how big the roll neck is. Buy it here for £36. Another staple I'm loving this season is leopard print, it's everywhere you go. I love the style of this tie front top, you can style it both down and up. Buy it here for £18. Keeping along the lines of leopard print, I saw these heeled boots on MissPap, aren't they just gorgeous!? They're perfect to add a little something else to an outfit. Buy them here for £25.

I had a black poncho like this grey one last year and I basically lived in it, get it here for £17.99.
I wanted another basic jumper in my wardrobe and I found this gorgeous grey off the shoulder one from Pretty Little Thing, buy it here for £15. Yellow is everywhere this season and I love it, I don't know why because I don't really wear yellow but I saw this kimono on Boohoo and added it straight to my wishlist. Get it here for £12. Whilst I was on the Boohoo site, I saw this fur hooded cream coat for £45 which is so good! I have been on the lookout for a white/cream coat for ages as I always stick to wearing black. Buy it here.

Since writing this wishlist, I have already went out and bought this mustard skirt. It's amazing quality and fits so nice. Plus, it gives me aaall the Clueless vibes. Get it here for £9.99. Staying along the lines of the checked patterns, because I always wear white, grey and black, this jacket would be perfect! I'd most probably wear it all the time. It looks so cosy too. Get it here for £85. I love the look of this monochrome twisted jumper, it would look lush with a pair of high waisted jeans and some boots. Buy it here for £20.

I really don't need anymore ankle boots but River Island stocks the best Winter boots! I saw these suede Chelsea boots with the black patent and gold detailing and I fell in love. Buy them here for £40. Burgundy is always a must have colour for this time of the year, and this cropped striped hoody would be perfect with some high waisted jeans and trainers. Buy it here for £15.

The Only Lip Products You Need This Season

autumn and winter lipsticks

Autumn and Winter is my favourite time of the year to wear dark colours, especially on the lips. I don't have as many dark lippies as other bloggers would. The past two years, I have actually started wearing lipstick near enough every day. Before then, I never used to wear it that often because I didn't like any thing too 'out there' and to 'stand out'. I used to stick with a very light nude colour and sometimes I weren't even keen on that because I have such pale skin, it didn't look right, ha. Anyway, in the last two years I have manned up and branched out and have actually bought and tried quite a few lip products. So here are my favourite and only lip products you need this season...

seasonal lip products

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM - Copenhagen (SMLC20)
I have loved the soft matte lip creams since I first tried one. I have been using this particular colour for about a year. I just love the colour, it's perfect for this time of the year - I actually thought it would be way too dark for my liking but it's really not. The consistency is very creamy which makes it easy to glide on my lips and it dries evenly and fairly quickly.

BURBERRY KISSES - Military Red (No.109)
This is your typical bright red lipstick. I do admit that it suits me a lot more with some fake tan, but I still love it all the same. I usually wear this a lot more on nights out and near Christmas.

RIMMEL THE ONLY 1 LIPSTICK - One of A Kind (810)
I adore this shade of red, it's more like a berry red than that popular 'out-there' bright red. I feel like this berry red shade suits more of a pale skin than a bright red lippy - so it's perfect for me! One of a kind applies very smoothly and it's also creamy. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is the flat angled shape of it. I think Rimmel designed it like that so it's easier to apply. However, I find it so much harder and I make such a mess. Maybe it's just me though?

NYX LINGERIE - Cashmere Silk (LIPLI18)
When I first bought this, I thought it was going to be a little darker on the lips but I still love it how it is! Like all NYX Lingeries, it has the same creamy moveable consistency. It's the perfect dark nude for this season. It looks more grey on camera - like I'm a walking zombie or something LOL.

RIMMEL STAY MATTE - Rose & Shine (210)
This pink shade is perfect to wear all year round. The consistency is nice and creamy and easy to work with. With matte lipsticks, you can sometimes feel it on your lips but with this one, you don't even know you're wearing it. The only thing that bugs me about this lipstick is that I wish it dried a bit quicker after application, other than that, I love it.

SLEEK MATTE ME - Velvet Slipper (1039)
I love dark purple colours in the Autumn and Winter months. This particular lipstick is my most recent purchase. Matte me is a very creamy product - you don't need a lot of it to glide on your lips, which means you won't need to buy another one for sometime. It also lasts most of the day as well, although it goes quite patchy on the inner lips after eating but I don't find that a huge problem at all.

Winter Handbag Essentials

winter handbag essentials

I have all sorts of bits and pieces in my bag all year round, but there are certain items that I need to make sure I'm stocked up on for the Winter season.

HAND CREAM
Hand cream is an obvious 'must-have' for this time of year. The changes of the weather makes my hands really dry so I like to take some hand cream out and about with me and apply it whenever I need to. I currently have 'Soap & Glorys hand food' and 'Ted Baker hand cream.'

VASELINE/LIP BALM
I have always suffered with dry lips - even in the warmer months. But, this time of the year my lips can get chapped quite easily so I like to have a tin of Vaseline in my bag. I don't actually use a lip balm, although I'd like to try the Burts Bees one to see what all the hype is about.

UMBRELLA
I don't normally use umbrellas just because they always catch the wind when I put it up and turn inside out. Then I look like a knob fighting with it on the side of the road to try and put it down. But, I always keep one handy in my bag - you never know when you'll really need it.

A/W LIPSTICK
Duh! I usually carry about three or four dark lipsticks in my bag. Normally just so I can top up on the one I already have on throughout the day. Or, if I leave the house without any lippy on - I have a few colours handy to choose from.

TISSUES
You never know when you'll need a tissue. If you're ill or somebody around you is ill or even if you go to sit on a wet seat etc etc etc, tissues do the job!

WARM ITEMS OF CLOTHING
I always have a pair of gloves sitting at the bottom of my bag during the Winter months. You never know when you're going to get caught in freezing temperatures and winds. I also have now started putting my bobble hat in my bag too. I have thought about putting my scarf in my bag but it would take up so much room, it would just be a nightmare. So, I'll probably leave that in my car instead.

My Winter Makeup Staples

megan elizabeth blog

my winter makeup staples

I don't know about you but I have certain favourite products that I use on a daily basis in the Winter months. I like to use a lip scrub in the Winter as I get really dry, chapped lips. I bought the bubblegum lip scrub from Lush back in the Summer. It smells amazing and it does the job. This is also fantastic to use before applying liquid lippies, we all know how they end up looking when you have dry lips, ay?

I also like to use a good ol' face wash to proper cleanse my skin. I particularly like this seaweed one from The Body Shop, it thoroughly cleanses my skin and it's gentle. As much as I love applying makeup, I like keeping my makeup quite neutral in the Winter due to my pale skin. Oh, does anyone else feel like they look much paler in the Winter? As you can see, this is one of my all time favourite nude palettes, the shadows are almost gone. They're lovely light neutral colours and they're also easy to blend.

Who doesn't love a red lip? I find that they're so much more flattering in the Winter months... especially with Christmas, New Years and the colder weather. My favourite proper bright red lippy has to be this one from Burberry, it's my Winter go-to lip product. Lastly, is obviously my holy grail setting spray from Urban Decay. This product is honestly worth every penny and if you haven't yet tried it, where have you been all this time? Even though I'd use this more in the warmer weather, it's also perfect for the colder months and shittier weather.

A Pink & White Outfit for a Chilly November Day

november 2016 ootd blog post

pink ootd blog post

Firstly, I have a couple of things to update you on, a few posts ago I mentioned that my camera lens packed up on me. I still haven't got it sorted (boooo), so I'm relying on my iPhone 5S and my little old Canon Powershot, which both really aren't great so I apologise for that. Also, after having the same hairstyle for seven odd years, I really wanted a change. So, I had a full fringe cut in. It's not a major change but it's different and I like it. It took a bit of time to get used to but every one says they like it and that it suits me. Anyway, cracking on with the post...

As it has become a lot chillier recently, I have been pulling out my scarves and hats. I don't usually wear hats in the Winter, just because I don't think many hats suit me. But, after spotting this cute fluffy bobble hat in Lakesides Primark back in August (yes, I bought this in August), I just had to buy it. I adore how light pink and white look together. So to match my pink and white theme, I wore my pink slip on plimsolls from Topshop, they're super comfy. I love this outfit, so simple yet so cute.

Wardrobe Essentials You Need This A/W

autumn and winter wardrobe essentials

With the colder weather drawing in, I decided that I wanted to and needed to update my wardrobe. So, I've been shopping around and found some affordable essentials that you'll need this A/W. I noticed this black cape in River Island a couple of days ago and I just had to get it. Unfortunately it is one size but I'm tiny and surprisingly, it doesn't look ridiculous on me. I thought that it was perfect for when you're chilly but don't want to overheat in a coat. It is reversible and River Island also stocks it in the colour grey, which is also gorg! £30.00 Buy it here.

Who doesn't love cosy socks in the colder weather? I live in fluffy socks and slippers at this time of the year and these slipper socks from New Look are perfect. How cute are the little bobbles? New Look also sell these in a light pink colour. £9.99 Buy these here.
I don't usually wear hats in the colder months. Mainly because they make my hair messy and they don't suit me. But, I bought this particular one from Primark a few weeks back. It suits me so well and its such a lovely material and colour. Although, I was stuck between this one and the burgundy colour. To be honest, I could've got both for the affordable price. £2.50 Buy it here.

I love a nice cosy coat for this time of the year. Longline jackets are so in trend at the moment but I feel that not everybody loves them. But I love this one from New Look, I love the length and the faux fur and it just looks cute. £44.99 Buy it here.
Another bargain from Primark is this burgundy scarf. I am obsessed with the colour burgundy at the minute, I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because it's Autumnal and I'm all for that shit this year. I actually ended up buying this scarf in a light beige colour the other day. Unlucky for me, my Primark store didn't have the burgundy scarf in stock. But like my beige one, this is reversible which is always handy for different outfits. £5.00 Buy it here.

I have been wanting some knee high boots for ageeees. I just can't seem to find the perfect pair. I love these ones from River Island, they just go over the knee and look so lush on. I just wish they were knee length. But I love these anyway and you need to have a pair of knee high or over the knee boots in your wardrobe! £75.00 Buy them here.
I have been looking for jumper dresses everywhere. I must be really fussy because yet again, I don't seem to fall in love with any. I found this plain swing jumper dress from Boohoo and I was oh so pleased when I found it. It's exactly what I've been looking for. They're currently sold out in S/M so I'm gonna have to wait for this purchase. £15.00 Buy it here.

Lastly, you can never have too many boots. My boyfriend always says that I have too many shoes or he moans if I even glance at a pair whilst shopping. I saw these ankle boots from Miss Selfridge and fell in love. I bought a pair of ankle boots from there last year and they've lasted me so well. I love the suede and leather look and the gold detailing completes them. £45.00 Buy them here.

Things I Want To Do This Autumn+Winter

Oh, hello October!
October is one of my favourite seasons, it embarks the dark mornings, dark evenings, the colder weather and wrapping up in blankets... I could go on. So, I've made a list of things I want to achieve this A/W.

1. Starting an Autumn/Winter wardrobe. You don't know how long I've been waiting for the A/W weather. I've been patiently waiting to cosy up in blankets, throw on jumpers and buy lots more boots. Yeah, like I really need more boots. I adore Autumn and Winter fashion, I can't stop pinning cute outfits on my Pinterest board. If only I could pin those outfits straight into my wardrobe.

2. Exercise more. It got to Christmas last year and I didn't want to eat any Christmas pudding, sausage rolls, homemade Christmas biscuits or those chocolates out of a tub of Heroes because I wasn't proud of my body at that time. When I start a fitness routine, I never manage to keep it up. So, I'll probably have to make myself a timetable type thing to go by. This past week I have actually started working out, so I can slowly cross this one off my list.

3. Get my YouTube channel rolling. So far, being a fairly newbie youtuber, I have only managed to get two videos up. I'd like to make a lot more and that's something I'd like to do this A/W. Especially as Halloween and Christmas are coming up, I'm looking forward to doing some Halloween tutorials and Christmas DIYs.

4. Start drinking 'holiday' drinks from either Starbucks or Costa. After everyone had been raving about the pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks, I eventually tried one the other day and ended up loving it. I'm not usually a fan of hot drinks but I prefer them a lot more in the colder weather.

5. Start making goals. Not just for my blog but for other things in my life too. It makes me much more motivated and makes me happy when I reach them goals.

Blogmas Day 22 : A Cosy Winters Night In

I can't believe it's almost Christmas, so what better way to spend a cosy Winter's night!?

It's lush to have a cosy night in now and then, especially in the Winter. When I have a cosy night in I like to do a bit of pampering. I usually have a bath using any nice bath products I own and then cleanse my face and pop a face mask on. Tonight I'm using a candyfloss scrub and it smells SO good!

I then make a hot chocolate or a latte, (preferably vanilla) and spend my time chilling out on the sofa or relaxing in bed on my iPad, checking social media, catching up on YouTube videos or reading blogs. It's usually all three. I also have my TV on - I use it as my background noise whether I'm watching it or not, I have to have my TV on. Sometimes I stick some movies on if I feel like it.

Blogmas Day 10 : The Perfect Winter Eyes

Hello lovelies!

Today I felt like doing a tutorial on an everyday eye look for Winter. I love this look and I'll definitely be doing it for the rest of this month!

This eye look is more on the neutral side of the scale. You can't go wrong with neutrals, right?

I used a shimmery light shade for the base, then I went in with a chocolate shade for the outer corner and crease. Blend that all together and it works wonders! Also, I added some false lashes from e.l.f (here) to enhance the make-up. Obviously, it's personal preference for lashes and liquid liner.
