April Favourites

Oh my, I haven't written a monthly favourites post up for around a year, probably. The past couple of months, I have tried out a lot of new products and there has been five products in particular that I have been absolutely loving!

As I have been using self tan a lot more, especially throughout this month, I have been using The Body Shops coconut body butter to moisturise with. I love almost every product from The Body Shop anyway but this just smells heavenly and it has helped out my dry skin and prevented patchy tans, so I'm happy! I should be stocking up on more of their body butters as I am due to run out of this one soon.

I had first tried this bath oil around two years ago when Dr Botanicals PR sent it to me for a review, and I really loved it but the price of it put me off for the amount of oil you actually get. Around Christmas time, I finally gave in and bought it again - I think they've actually lowered the prices now. But this month, I have really been loving taking baths with this. There has been times I couldn't wait to get home from work and soak in this bath oil. It smells amazing, I can't even describe how it smells. It leaves a sweet, rose aroma scent in the bathroom and on your skin. It also makes your skin incredibly soft. It's safe to say I'll be using this forever more. 

You may not be able to tell, but this is empty! This is the second one I've owned since February. I spent the second week of April scraping the sides of this concealer. Fair enough, it's £4 and it's amazing but it runs out ever so quickly! I put out a tweet to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing or whether I was just using shit loads of it. But lots of other gals agreed. It's the best concealer I've ever used, it's full coverage and lasts all day and it has been my best friend for long shifts this month - I wrote a review on this concealer if you want to know a little more, here.

THIS STUFF. I will be writing a separate review on this at some point because this stuff is just PERFECTION. I had recently tried out the Bondi Sands dark foam tan and I loved it! So, I had decided to buy their everyday liquid gold dry oil to keep my tan topped up and looking fresh. It's perfect for feet, hands and your face. It gives you a natural glowy tan and doesn't go patchy at all. Everyday liquid gold also dries super quickly so you don't have to prance around the room waiting for it to dry.

This is the first time I have ever used loose powder and I am loving it! Why did I stick to using pressed powder for so long? The Max Factor professional loose powder is translucent so it's perfect for when I self tan and for when I'm my pale little self. It tries its best to prevent my oily skin showing through my makeup throughout the day. Although after around 5-6 hours, I need to get my blotting paper out. But, it blends out so easily and it's really easy to apply. It has also lasted me ages and probably much longer than a pressed powder would.

A Round Up of My 2016 Beauty Favourites

I have tried many beauty products throughout the year and many of them I have loved. I decided to round up my most favourite products of 2016 and let you know how they worked for me.

I bought the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray after my best friend let me use hers for a night out. Since that night, I haven't gone a day without using my setting spray - it really does work. If you haven't yet tried this out, seriously, where have you been? I don't know why I didn't buy this earlier. Next is my contour kit from Sleek, this is THE perfect shade for contouring if you have pale skin. The highlight is also beaut too! This little drugstore kit is so pleasing for just £6.99 - it lasts ages, it's easily blendable and the pigmentation is top-notch. Read a full review on this here.

I bought the fleur loves lashes from Boots back in July and I have loved them ever since. They're only half lashes but they look so natural and still give a 'full effect' look and they're so lightweight too, perfect for day and night. The PR team from Dr Botanicals actually sent me this body cream back in the Summer time to review. It smells beautiful, I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with this body cream - trust me, it's really worth the money. Read my review here. Obviously I had to include Garniers micellar water in this post. Can you believe that I never tried it beforehand? It has been such a popular beauty product for a number of years. I've finally jumped on the bandwagon, oh well better late than never, right?
 

Next up is the brush egg, this isn't a product but it's a very handy tool. It's excellent for deep cleaning makeup brushes, it's very quick and easy to use. If you're quite a frequent reader of my blog, you would know that I have only recently tried out and ended up loving the bubblegum lip scrub from Lush and the Shaaanxo palette. If you suffer with dry lips and you're looking for a gentle and affordable scrub, this is the one for you. Read more about it here.

I'm quite a new owner of the Shaaanxo palette and since swatching everything included in the palette, I have been in love. Everything about it is perfect. The shadows and lipsticks are so pigmented and every colour comes out how it looks in the palette. Read more about why I loved it here. Lastly is my body lift cellulite control cream from Clarins. I think near enough every woman has cellulite, it's not a bad thing. I don't have much of it but it's sometimes a little visible on the back of my legs. I really don't use this as often as I should because honestly, I cba.
But, it does work. It'll probably take longer to notice a difference if you have more of it. This product isn't cheap either so I'm glad it actually does something unlike other products.

July Favourites

The last monthly favourites post I wrote was in March. I say it every month but honestly... where has the year gone? It won't be long till I'm on a countdown until Halloween and Christmas. As if I just mentioned those two events in a July favourites post.

No pair of sunglasses EVER suit me. But, after years of searching, I finally found the perfect pair from River Island. I love everything about them; the colour, they're so comfortable and I don't look like a fly. For only £10, I'm glad I found these! Hopefully they last me foreverrrr.

When I heard about the new Pinita Colada range in the body shop, I was beyond excited. I personally love pina coladas and I thought it would be perfect to add to my bathroom shelf. It's such a sweet summery smell, I just can't get over it. It's only £5!!

Ok, this month was the first time I've ever tried the Garnier micellar water. I know what you're thinking... "you have a beauty blog, how have you not tried it?" or "you've missed out!" I know. I don't have a clue why I hadn't tried this sooner, it's AMAZING! I won't go into too much detail about this product as you've probably read hundreds of reviews. It's gentle on my sensitive skin, it doesn't irritate my eyes and I find it quicker than using makeup wipes. I only bought the 125ml to see what it was like and because it was £1 in Boots.

I have never tried the Urban Decay setting spray before, although I have been eyeing it up for over a year. On nights out, my best friend always let me borrow her UD setting spray and I was completely satisfied every time. So I took the plunge and splashed out £22 on this setting spray. It's better than Makeup Revolutions, to be honest, you and I would be surprised if it wasn't. It has been fantastic in the hot weather that the UK has recently had. When I thought that my makeup was melting off, it didn't budge once! I'm so pleased with this and I will definitely be buying a second one.

Next is my favourite contour kit from Sleek. It's the perfect contour shade for pale skin, it blends easy and stays on all day long. The highlighter is very pigmented and illuminating. This duo compact is my fave and it's travel friendly! I have used this every single day since I've purchased it and I've had quite a few compliments on my highlight. I have written a separate post on this product (here) if you would like to read a bit more about it.

I recently bought Lee Staffords Coconut Spritz from his Coco Loco range. If you love coconuts then I guarantee that you'll love this! It's a quick and easy moisturising spray that you spray before blow-drying your hair. And, I also spray it in my hair throughout the day if my hair looks a little dull and dry. I use this all the time, I literally smell of coconuts. I'm so tempted to just buy the whole Coco Loco range.

August Favourites

Hello lovelies!

It's that time of the month again to pick out my favourite items which I've been using throughout August!

Lauren's Way Fake Tan-

I mentioned that I bought this tan in my end of the month haul in July. I have only ever used this once before and it gave amazing results, so I went and bought it again. This tan leaves me glowing and it is streak free, which is fab!


No7 Cleansing Body Polish- 

I bought this out of boots for £9.99 but it is definitely worth the price! It smells so good and it really helps exfoliate ready for fake tanning. This is the best exfoliator I've ever used for both cleansing and for tanning. My skin feels so soft and smells so good after coming out of the shower. I'm going to be buying another one after this runs out!


Makeup Revolution Setting Spray-

I asked on twitter a few months back which setting spray is best. Bloggers replied with the normal fixing spray by Makeup Revolution. So I headed to their website and saw a new fixing spray for oily skin.

 I bought this instead of the normal one, because I obviously have oily skin and wanted to give it a go. No, it doesn't control my oily skin but it does keep my makeup perfect all day every day. So to be honest, I would've been better off buying the normal setting spray instead of the 'oil fix' one.


No7 Makeup Brush Cleanser-

This is so easy to use just to quickly clean your brushes. It dries quickly and gets most of the product out of the brushes easily. I would say that this is my go to product and I absolutely recommend this to anyone who needs a fast and easy cleanser.


Makeup Revolution Eye Primer-

Believe it or not, for the price this really works! It keeps your eyeshadows perfect all day and night. I suffer with oily skin so I usually get creases on my eyelids easily, but this is great for me - no creases and my eyelids don't get oily anymore! Hurray!

This also keeps my eyeshadows vibrant. Amazing primer for a cheap price! My new fave!


Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush-

This brush is way too small for applying foundation but I use this to dab in my concealer. I don't usually use brushes for my concealer, but I thought that I should put this brush to good use and it works a treat!


Netflix-

I've been watching Netflix since May and I'm absolutely loving it! I've been watching so much of it - especially this whole month. Since I've had Netflix, I have been hooked to Pretty Little Liars. From May I have watched all six seasons of PLL and I couldn't get enough of it. Earlier this month was the season finale of PLL which meant I could watch more things on Netflix.

I am currently watching Mako Mermaids. How old am I? Who remembers H20 Just add water? It's basically the same, except a little different but I bloody love it!
